Ah, The Lake Trip

Well what a lovely "vacation" I have just returned from. A messed up heater and no running water, oh, and we were at the lake, so it was utterly frigid out as well. I was expecting the cold, but I was also expecting amenities. So not a very restful trip for sure, but it was still good to get away. Heard on the radio down there that there was supposed to be something like 3,000 bald eagles passing through "so be sure to come on down for hot cocoa and guides", but anywhere you stopped and asked, they knew nothing about it. Lots of, "I think they do that in September or something" which was really not helpful. Couldn't get the radio station that I had heard it on to get good enough reception again to hear it again. We finally are heading back to the trailer and I tell the Hubby to turn here. There is a little sign just after the turn that says "Eagle Days", so I am excited again and we search out more arrows till we find our way there. Well, of course our luck had been going so well otherwise that the event was over. Fabulous. So no eagles, but I did hang out and freeze long enough to get some other nice bird shots. Definitely not a total loss, but it sure wasn't the trip I had in mind. Glad to be home. I am really sore and achy and ready to get back on track and schedule again. Hopefully, the next time we venture out that way there will be a few less surprises.

The first of a series of momentary blinks

Alright, now we both know this won't last, but hopefully we will have a good time in the meantime. I am eternally bad at keeping up with these sorts of things, but hey, if it helps keep the cobwebs cleared, then I might as well give it a go. There will likely never be a real theme here, just my various rantings, project ideas, and points of view.
So, on to the cobweb clearing, as it were.
Today the thing that is eating on my mind the most would have to be our current lack of moolah. That is always stressful for anyone, so you all know what I mean...there is really no point going into that further for now. It would just be nice to experience long term stability...I know, dreamland fantasy, but it would be nice.
News wise, the thing that really freaks me out right now are the THOUSANDS of dead birds that fell from the sky in Arkansas. I think it is fabulously nightmarish that they would wait till 6 days after the fact before they bother to try to figure out what the hell could have caused it. "Oh, we'll get to that on Monday...". Just lovely, really.
